Gnocchi is a simple potato, egg and flour recipe with basic cooking directions. You can always make your classic ‘dumplings’ in the comfort of your home and enjoy this delicious pasta/potato combo in the company of your family and friends.
- Boil salted water in a large pot. Peel potatoes and add to the pot then allow them to cook until they are tender but still firm. This will take almost 15 minutes, then cool and mash the potatoes until smooth.
- Combine the mashed potato and flour then add an egg in a large bowl. Mix the three until the dough forms a ball. You then shape small portions into long and narrow dumpling shapes. Cut the dough into a half inch pieces.
- Boil lightly salted water in a large pot. Drop the pieces of gnocchi & cook for about five minutes or until the dough rise to the top. You then drain and they are ready to be served.
