You may be guilty of being a microwave junkie if your main source of meals is in a pack and heated in the microwave. If this is the case then your certainly not eating very healthily no matter what catchy labels and wording is on the pack to suggest otherwise; just think of the chemicals from the plastic that get released into the food when you heat up the ready meal in the microwave.
Another thing to think about is exactly what they have put in that processed ready meal, that’s probably going to be some sort of toxic ingredient that’s not really necessary; used as a preservative or to add an extra kick to the flavouring, as flavouring is lost in the food from being frozen.
If it’s something you have to take with you to work then try and consider something lighter to eat during the day rather than using the microwave at work; a microwave should always be used as a last resort, not a main cooking appliance for all your meals, especially if your going to be heating up food in a plastic container.
If time is a problem factor for you, or your too tired when you finish work each evening, then when your at home, all you really need to do to solve the time problem is to make a few basic meals from fresh ingredients the Sunday before each week and freeze them in a freezable container ready to be heated up each evening. You can take the meal you want out of the freezer the night before and put it in the refrigerator overnight, so it’s ready for you to heat up in the oven, or a quick re-cook in the frying pan. This way all you need to do is add your own herbs and spices for flavouring and you will know exactly what’s in it; it’s going to take you 5 – 10 minutes tops to cook up and serve, which is about the same time it takes for Microwave ready meal anyway.
